Lenovo and Dell have a huge fan base looking forward to every new version of the product. Traditionally, the most anticipated notebooks for both companies are the business-oriented block plants. But times have changed and convertible laptops are a new trend. Lenovo and Dell want to dominate the new market with their super-fast but incredibly fast 2-in-1 laptops: Lenovo Yoga 920 and Dell XPS 13.

The Yoga Notebook Convertible line is famous for its unique hinge, reminiscent of a classic watch. The 920 Yoga also has an emblematic buckle. A hinge allows you to rotate the screen so you can hold the notebook like a shelf.
The XPS 13 also has a hinge that allows you to rotate the screen around its entire circumference, but this can attract your attention. Dell’s double hinge solution puts function above form, and it’s not as attractive as a strap hinge that works over a length of Yoga 920.

The Yoga 920 and the XPS 13 with side hinge are both great laptops that will make you proud every time you use them in public. The XPS 13 is slightly thinner (0.46 inches vs. 0.55 inches) and lighter (2.65 pounds vs. 3.05 pounds), but that’s only because the Yoga 920 has a larger screen.
Lenovskaya Yoga 920 vs Dell XPS 13 Display
Yoga 920 comes with a 13.9 screen, available in 1080p and 4K. The XPS 13 has a 13.3-inch screen that is only available in 1080p or 1800p resolution. However, lower resolution is the only aspect where XPS 13 lags far behind Yoga 920.
The full HD version of the XPS 13 is much brighter than the corresponding version of the Yoga 920 and emits up to 360 nit instead of just 284 nit. Dell’s Full HD display is also more colorful and produces 117% of the sRGB spectrum, compared to 105% for Yoga 920.
Both laptops are available with touch support, but Dell battery chargers are much larger than Lenovo ones. We’ve had no problems with touch control on a laptop, but the Dell XPS 13 InfinityEdge is more comfortable because the content seems to blend in with the environment due to the absence of thick flanges.
Depending on how often you communicate with other Skype users, you may not like having a webcam on your XPS 13. The webcam is located underneath the screen and offers a very open perspective on the nose.
Lenovskaya yoga 920 vs Dell XPS 13 Connectors and input devices
You’ll find two Thunderbolt 3 ports on the Dell XPS 13 and Lenovo Yoga 920, but each notebook offers them in a different form. The XPS 13 has a USB-C Thunderbolt 3 port and a USB-C 3.1 port, while the Yoga 920 has two USB-C Thunderbolt 3 ports and a USB-A 3.0 port for older devices. Both laptops also have a 3.5 mm audio connection, but only the XPS 13 has a microSD card reader.
Security experts have lobbied for years to drop passwords, and XPS 13 and Yoga 920 support biometric authentication with Windows Hello and fingerprints.
A comfortable keyboard is the most important element that makes a hooded notebook an excellent performer compared to tablet computers. The keyboard of the Yoga 920 has a vertical key movement of 1.3 mm, but is not as sensitive as the keyboard of the XPS 13, which has a vertical key movement of 1.2 mm.
It’s hard to say which laptop is best equipped with a touch screen, because the two have different strengths and weaknesses. The XPS 13’s touchpad is a little small, but thanks to its glass surface, it responds much better than the large touchpad of the Yoga 920.
Lenovo Yoga 920 vs Dell XPS 13 Power
Both Lenovo Yoga 920 and Dell XPS 13 share the same Intel Core i7-8550U processor, the same integrated Intel UHD 620 graphics and fast SSDs. The XPS 13 is equipped with 8GB of RAM, while the Yoga 920 can hold up to 16GB of RAM, providing the extra memory needed for many heavy-duty applications.
All XPS 13 models use the same 60Wh battery, which can last about 8.5 hours. The Full HD Yoga 920 takes up to 15.5 hours, while the 4K only lasts 10.8 hours.
Lenovskaya Yoga 920 vs Dell XPS 13 Price
It should be noted that the cheap XPS 13 model has half as much RAM and memory as the cheapest Yoga 920 model (4 GB RAM and 128 GB memory compared to 8 GB and 256 GB).
Lenovskaya Yoga 920 v. Dell XPS 13 Comparative opinion
The Lenovo Yoga 920 and Dell XPS 13 are two outstanding 2-in-1 convertible notebooks with an attractive appearance, top performance, long battery life and affordable price. If you are looking for a convertible that is easy to transport, we recommend the XPS 13. But if you are willing to take an extra few millimeters here, there and everywhere, then the 920 Yoga is an equally sensible choice.
