Design and construction
The design of the front panel of the JBL C50Hi is simple and functional. The earphones are made entirely of one-coloured plastic. The camera I’m looking at here is blue, although the headphones are also available in black and white.
The design is very simple and practical, the company has not used metal or structured surfaces, but that’s not bad – it still looks very elegant with this simple design.
Let us give you an overview of these headphones. On the main module you will find the JBL logo and the left/right sign. Halfway along the right side of the cable you will find a simple one-button remote to control your calls and music. There is no volume control, so you need to use your phone. At the other end there is a 3.5 mm L-shaped audio connection.
The build quality of the JBL C50Hi is decent compared to the price, I can say it is good. However, the only drawback of the design of these earphones is the thin and confusing cable, which doesn’t look very durable.
In general, JBL C50HI earphones have a good appearance and a solid finish. Of course they are usually made of plastic, but in this case the absence of metal doesn’t bother us.
The rectangular telephone socket in the ear canal fits perfectly in the ear without hesitation and the soft silicone earplugs make it comfortable and pleasant to wear. I’ve been wearing them for a couple of hours and I’m very happy with the comfort these JBL earphones offer. The JBL C50Hi is very light, only 12 gr.
It is also equipped with a good quality microphone, so you can easily receive calls while on the move. The sound insulation these headphones provide is also good, so you won’t have unwanted outside noises when listening to your favourite music.
When it comes to sound quality, the JBL C50HI works really well at a certain price. The earphones are equipped with an 8.6 mm driver for a loud and clear sound. It covers the standard frequency range from 20 to 20,000 Hz and ensures you don’t miss out on any significant notes in your music.
Now let’s move on to the bass sound, which is relatively good. The headphones offer a very good bass reproduction, as we expect from balanced headphones. The bass is not very high, so if you hear heavy basses, you have to choose another option. But those interested in genres like rock, classical and even a bit of pop music will not be bothered by the bass level offered here. Voices and heights are also good for the price, the high frequencies are really balanced and the voices are clear and distinct.
Overall, the JBL C50HI headphones sound sufficient. Of course they are not perfect – but for this price perfection is a little more demanding.
If you are looking for high quality in-ear headphones with superior sound and comfort for a budget of less than 500 rupees, I recommend the JBL C50HI. More information can be found in the full presentation video on my Geekman YouTube channel.
