Huawei is one of the largest smartphone companies on the market and provides all its devices with its own HiSilicon Kirin chipset. They produce high quality chips and have never approached a company to meet their chip needs. Most manufacturers of Android devices prefer to make use of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon offer.
The chipset used by Huawei in the upper mid-range segment is the HiSilicon Kirin 710, while Qualcomm’s chipset is produced for the same segment – Snapdragon 675. Both chipsets are competitively priced and give similar results, with a few differences.

Below is a comparison of two chipsets with different parameters with the specification comparison table at the end of the article.
Snapdragon 675 uses an 11 nm LPP production unit, while Kirin 710 uses a 12 nm production unit. The Kirin 710 has a less efficient architecture than the SD 675.
The SD 675 has 2 Cryo 460 (CA76) at 2.0 GHz 256 KB L2 and 6 Cryo 460 (CA55) at 1.7 GHz 64 KB L2. Kirin 710 has 4 cortex-A73 at 2.2 GHz and 4 cortex-A53 at 1.7 GHz. The SD chipset has a lower clock frequency, but this does not affect the performance of the chipset.
The SD 675 uses Adreno 612 and LPDDR4x as memory and supports up to 8 gigabytes of RAM. Kirin 710 uses the ARM Mali-G51 MP4 and LPDDR4 is limited to 6 GB as RAM requirement. The additional 2 GB RAM gives the SD 675 an advantage over the Kirin 710.
The SD 675 (Redmi Note 7 pro) has a power output of 85516 and a 36106 GPU, for a total of 181,467, while the Kirin 710 (Huawei Nova 3i) has a power output of 65581 and a 22547 GPU, for a total of 138,280.
The SD 675 is equipped with a Spectra 250 vendor that supports three cameras, while the Kirin 710 supports up to two cameras. 16 MP + 24 MP. The absence of a third camera module prevents the phone from providing users with a range of focal lengths to click on images.
Both chipsets have certain specific characteristics that other chipsets lack, for example, Snapdragon 675 does not have NX-bit that protects your computer from malicious attacks. Kirin 710 has an NX bit and uses it to his advantage. On the other hand, the Kirin 710 has no error correction code or EEG memory capable of detecting and correcting data corruption. The Kirin 710 also has a lack of on-demand execution, forcing the CPU to use instruction loops that are normally wasted due to delays.
The Snapdragon 675 chipset is superior to the Kirin 710 due to its architecture and support for more RAM, but the Kirin 710 is also a good choice for users, and the decision of the user depends on the capabilities of chipset based smartphones.
